$25M Set Aside for New Philly Voting System

Philadelphia's 5-year Capital Plan includes $25M for voting system modernization sometime before June 2016. The key to getting appropriate technology for a fair price is writing a good "Request For Proposals" based on input from stakeholders (e.g., voters, poll workers, people with disabilities and Board of Elections employees) and a comprehensive survey of this fast-changing market.

City Commissioner Stephanie Singer has spelled out specific recommendations in a recent report.
